CSRME "Innovation China" Service Team of Coal Geology Carried out Science and Technology Volunteer Work in Lyuliang

On March 15, the CSRME carried out technical training and enterprise research activities in Lyuliang City, Shanxi Province. The team for this event was led by Prof. Manchao He, academician of the CAS and president of the CSRME. A total of 10 experts participated in this event, including Prof. Jingli Zhao, foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and professor of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing); Mr. Jianming Wang, director of the Lyuliang Energy Bureau, and other participants from Institute of Deep Space Science and Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing).

Academician Manchao He and his team first went to Pengfei Jinliu Energy Longmenta Coal Mine to conduct field research. They learned about technical difficulties encountered in the construction of soft rock support and 110 construction method, and gave guidance on the spot. At the technical exchange meeting, the program director of the Longmenta Coal Mine reported the current development status and characteristics, as well as some existing problems; the personnel of the China Union for Mining Innovation reported the existing issues discovered during the on-site investigation in Longmenta Coal Mine, and proposed corresponding improvement suggestions. In view of broken roofs, spontaneous combustion of coal pillars, and broken anchor cables in various coal mines, academician He analyzed and stated his opinion. He hoped that Pengfei Jinliu could optimize the coal mining method and replace the "121" construction method with the "110" construction method to realize the safety in coal mining; optimize the design of coal mines, eliminate safety hazards, and ensure a smooth transition between the old and new design systems; update theoretical cognition, promote the transformation and upgrading of the coal industry with technological innovation, and realize safe mining; use new materials and learn new knowledge, continue to apply it to various fields of coal mining; use science to guide production, solve the problems encountered in the support of coal mines according to the specific conditions, and continuously improve the coal recovery rate; at the same time, it is necessary to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with expert teams to jointly promote the revolution of the coal industry.

Subsequently, Academician Manchao He was invited by the Liulin County Party Committee to give a training lecture entitled "Principles and Key Technologies of 110/N00 Construction Method " to the heads of the county's main enterprises and coal mine managers. The "110" construction method can effectively reduce the periodic roof weighting in longwall mining, greatly improve the roadway support conditions, and improve the impact of mining subsidence on the surface. This construction method has been applied in Lyuliang and many mines in China, and the effect is remarkable. Academician Manchao He also introduced the "N00" construction method - coal mining without roadway tunneling and pillars. The "110" and "N00" are both revolutionary and subversive construction methods to the traditional "121" construction method. The lecture stimulated participants' thinking and enthusiasm for innovation on how the geological security technology for safe and efficient mining can adapt to new mining processes.

This event led by the CSRME aims to give full play to its technological advantages to promote high-quality economic development, connect with local governments, local science and technology associations, and enterprises, and strive to maturely implement the coal geology industry-university integration project in Lyuliang, helping to optimize the implementation of technological innovation in coal mining in Lyuliang City.
