On November 10, 2022, the 25th East Asia Round Table Meeting of Academies of Engineering (EA-RTM) was held online, with the theme of " Prevention and Mitigation of Disasters as Climate Change Adaptation". There were three topics for discussion: " Flood Forecasting for River Basins and Flood Control Frontiers", "Frontiers of Landslide Disaster Prediction and Damage Reduction Measures " and "Other Advanced Measures for Prediction and Mitigation of Water Disasters". Researcher Yueping Yin, vice president of the CSRME, was invited to give an academic report entitled "Research on China's Landslide Mitigation Strategy", introducing the disaster-causing mechanism of geological disasters in China's hills and mountains, the Loess Plateau, Southwest karst mountains and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the results of early identification, monitoring and early warning and risk control of geological disasters in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, and expressed his views on risk mitigation and monitoring and early warning during the period of discussion.

The EA-RTM is established under a regional cooperation mechanism in science, engineering and technology by the CAE, EAJ and NAEK in 1997. It is designed to discuss engineering and technological issues of common concern to all members, to seek the best solutions, and to provide suggestions on technological issues in the development of East Asia. The EA-RTM is held once a year and hosted by the engineering academies of the three countries in turn. It has played a positive role in enhancing mutual understanding among the three engineering academies, promoting mutual exchanges and cooperation, and promoting the rapid development of engineering technology and economics in East Asia.
