The Symposium on the Missions of the ISRM Commissions was held successfully by the CSRME in the Palace Museum

On the afternoon of November 10, 2022, Academician Manchao He, President of the CSRME and Chairman of ISRM China National Group, attended the symposium on the missions of the ISRM commissions in the Palace Museum. Researcher Xudong Wang, Curator of the Palace Museum and President of the ISRM Commission on Preservation of Ancient Sites, presided over the symposium. Professor Qiang Yang, Vice President of the ISRM, and more than 30 people attended the symposium, including the presidents and secretaries-general of the ISRM Commissions, and relevant staff of ISRM China National Group Secretariat. Academician Manchao He delivered the opening speech. On behalf of the CSRME and the ISRM Chinese National Team, he expressed his warmest welcome to the attendees, and then introduced the significant progress of international cooperation and communication in 2022.  Professor Qiang Yang, Vice President of the ISRM, conveyed to the attendees the spirit of the 2022 ISRM International Symposium (Paraguay). Associate Researcher Na Zhang, Deputy Secretary-General of the CSRME, on behalf of the ISRM Chinese National Group Secretariat, made the "National Group Work Report" to the participants on the progress of the ISRM China National Group's key work in 2022 and the work plan for 2023.  In the session of experience introduction and discussion, Researcher Xudong Wang,  President of the ISRM Commission on Preservation of Ancient Sites, Professor Yuyong Jiao, President of the ISRM Commission on Discontinuous Deformation Analysis (DDA), Professor Benguo He, Secretary-General of the ISRM Commission on Design Methodology, Researcher Jiayong Tian, Secretary-General of the ISRM Commission on Crustal Stress and Earthquakes, Professor Jianchun Li, President of the ISRM Commission on Rock Dynamics, Dr. Yi Wang, Secretary-General of the ISRM Commission on Commission on Sorptive Rocks, Researcher Qiangqiang Pei, Deputy Secretary-General of the ISRM Commission on Preservation of Ancient Sites, Associate Professor Dongqiao Liu, Secretary-General of the ISRM Commission on Rockburst, Professor Xiaoming Sun, President of the ISRM Commission on Soft Rocks, Researcher Wang Ju, President of the ISRM Commission on Radioactive Waste Disposal, made their work reports successively, presented the basic situation, highlight work and future work prospects.
This Symposium is the third international exchange and cooperation meeting successfully held by the CSRME since 2020 and 2021.
